THE PROBLEM
Users missed key moments by push notifications being slightly delayed or turning them off completely due to frustration.
01
IDEATION
Exploring the opportunity
With the World Cup approaching, the team wanted to surface live match updates outside the app using Apple's Live Activities feature.
I began by reviewing Apple's guidelines and identifying constraints of the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island. From there, I explored multiple low-fidelity concepts to understand how to balance live match context and brand visibility.
02
REVIEWS & PUSHBACKS
Feedback shaped
the direction
It was important to share these concepts with product owners and stakeholders as early as possible. The main push back was around technical limitations with displaying penalty shootouts. By working with the design system team, we were able to find a solution to this.
INITAL CONCEPT

Unable to receive goal information
REVICED APPROACH

Remove circle indicators

EDGE CASES
Designing for
real moments
As designs were approved I mapped out potential edge cases to make sure the experience stayed clear, in unexpected moments. This included preparing designs for use at the start of the Premier League season.
